Data

Working with humanistic data is a messy business. While the resulting visualizations often look neat and tidy, they conceal a long series of decisions made by scholars (and sometimes by software) that can have an enormous impact on the resulting arguments and interpretations. For that reason, all of the data sets that underpins the visualizations in this project are available here for download. Feel free to compare the data to the source material, to other corpora, and to existing literature. You can use them, build on them, or change them as you see fit. These data sets (like the entire website) are under a Creative Commons CC-BY-NC 4.0 license. This means that you may use, adapt, and share them freely with attribution for non-commercial purposes.
